Evidence you can follow.
The chart is the beginning of the explanation. The source, scope and limitations finish it.
What every data article carries
- Actual geography and data dates, with units and denominators.
- Source links, retrieval dates, definitions, coverage, licensing and missing values.
- Retained inputs, transformations and chart specification; underlying data when lawful.
- Plain-language explanation, methods, limitations and honest uncertainty.
- Actual preparation and review attribution, funding and AI-assistance disclosure.
- Publication/update dates and material correction history.
Check the calculation, then the claim
Derived figures are checked separately from writing. A working source link alone does not prove a calculation was reproduced. Country-specific evidence is labeled for that country; it does not silently become a worldwide claim.
Review and independence
Original and commissioned work requires Keith’s review. Explicit holds always win. Inconclusive evidence, sensitive information and higher-risk claims receive targeted review rather than being forced into a daily post.
Sponsors cannot control topics, findings or conclusions. A client may propose a question, never buy an outcome. Unfavorable results and material conflicts must remain visible.
